Taito Corporation

The Taito Corporation was created in August 1972 building on the earlier Taito Trading Company which was founded in 1944 by Michael Kogan. As of 2005 it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Square Enix.

In 1978 Taito released Space Invaders developed by a team led by Tomohiro Nishikado which is to this day one of the most successful arcade video games of all time.

This site focuses on the Taito Corporation era from the release of Space Invaders to the mid 80s and the video games produced during that time.
