Welcome to the Taito hardware identification repository, here you will find a collection of images and technical data for Taito PCBs collected into sets for a particular game or game variant. Each PCB will also have notes on compatibility with other games or variants of the same game and links to schematics, SLICE projects and technical articles where available.
If you have any relevant PCBs that I do not have here I would be grateful if you would be able to take good quality photographs of both sides of them or loan them to me so that I can add them here.
L-shaped boardset
L-shaped boards are so named as the Sound board plugs into the motherboard to form an L-shape. These boards only support upright games (unlike some Midway L-shaped boards) and monochrome monitors.
3-layer board stack (Monochrome)
This 3-layer board stack is typically used in tabletop games. It only supports monochrome monitors and the boards are all slightly shorter than their colour capable counterparts.
3-layer board stack (Colour)
This 3-layer board stack is typically used in tabletop games and can be found in both monochrome and colour versions. Colour video output requires the optional components on the CPU and Sound boards to have been populated and the boards are all slightly longer than their monochrome only counterparts. There are a number of different variations of the Sound/IO/Shifter board which are all interchangable.
3-layer board stack
Compatible Games: Space Invaders, Moon Base Zeta
This 3-layer board stack is used in both upright and tabletop part II games.
